I approach the role by listening, researching the detail, considering the implications and speaking up when it matters. My technology background has shaped a practical, problem-solving approach and a strong focus on what Circular Head needs to be ready for the future.
I view being a Councillor as community service, not a title. My focus is on helping ratepayers, supporting our community and making sure Circular Head has a voice when decisions affecting the region are made.
Why I'm running for Deputy Mayor.
I see the role as an opportunity to contribute strong leadership, provide a valued and respected voice and work constructively with the Mayor, Councillors, Council staff and our community.
Circular Head is changing, and I believe Council needs to remain focused on the decisions that will allow our communities, population, workforce and industries to thrive into the future.
I would bring the same approach I bring to Council now: listen carefully, understand the detail, speak up when it matters and work towards practical outcomes.

I made it clear this Council could not do things the way they've always been done, and we haven't. I wanted bigger thinking, bolder ideas. This Council has been the most progressive Council Circular Head has had in 70 years and I want to keep it that way.
I introduced Council’s first customer-focused policy, putting ratepayers at the heart of how Council works. If there's a way to get something done, we will find it for you and make it as easy as possible.
I've advocated for planning reform will continue to, we're a long way from Hobart and planning needs to work for us, not them - if we don't continue this effort planning rules will restrict Circular Head’s future potential. I proudly fight for Circular Head.
I've challenged government decisions directly with Ministers that affect the community and represented Circular Head’s interests beyond Council. I've successfully lobbied politicans over new rules that would have prevented good people standing for election.
I was the first Councillor in Council’s living memory to have a decision rescinded — because fixing what we get wrong matters. We are transparent, nothing is hidden, everything that can be shared will be.
Its what I'm best at, if there's a way, a workaround, a flexible rule or a loophole - I'll be the one to find it and create the way forward. I dont colour outside the lines, I simply move the lines.
I was elected to lead, not be a punching bag. If there's a problem I'll say so and address it directly - but I do this on behalf of Circular Head too and certainly not afraid to let our state's Ministers know when they're getting it wrong.
I've often said if you want to debate something, make sure you know more about your own expert topic than I do..
Circular Head has enormous strengths. The challenge is making sure we are ready for the changes ahead and continue the work now underway.
Support population, workforce and industry growth while protecting what makes Circular Head special.
Continue advocating for planning settings that allow appropriate development and investment.
Continue building a Council culture that looks for practical ways to help people achieve legitimate goals.
Keep representing the region’s interests to State and Federal decision-makers.
